Outline Description:

Session 3 will take into account the information learned from session 1, Brain Health 101 and session 2, Oral + Brain health and share practical practice tips and real-life situations. This will be a moderated session in which those on the panel will be asked to talk about how to keep it real, the challenges, the successes, and how we can improve going forward.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understanding the importance of collaboration between dental providers and primary care.
2. Understanding Best practices and real-world applications.
3. Age friendly principles and practices in oral health and dental care.

Speaker Bios:

Christine Hao, DMD, MPH

Dr. Christine Hao, DMD, MPH, is a distinguished dental professional with a comprehensive background in minimally invasive dentistry and public health. She currently serves as a dentist at Sound Dental Care in Washington, providing mobile and teledentistry services to long-term care residents while emphasizing the importance of accessibility in dental care.

Her academic journey includes earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Public Health with a focus on Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Hao is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health.

Passionate about whole-person care, Dr. Hao is a steadfast advocate for improving the quality and accessibility of dental services for all.

Kristen M. Childress, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, AGNP-C, CWCN-AP

Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare, committed to high-quality, evidence-based education and patient care. Thrives in fast-paced environments and enthusiastic about utilizing technology to promote optimal learning and health outcomes. Dedicated to teaching and mentoring across healthcare professions and skilled at communicating in highly-charged contexts.

Sarah Luetke, LD, RDH

Sarah is a notable Dental Public Health Specialist, Geriatric Oral Health Advocate, and Minimally Invasive Dental Provider. She founded Sound Dental Care which brings dental care to the geriatric and special needs populations through a mobile deliver model. She currently serves in administrative management and clinical roles as a denturist and dental hygienist. Advocacy and policy change are her other passion. Sarah also co-founded MOBY Dental Alliance, a 501 (c) (3), which is a Minimally Invasive Dental platform connecting patients and providers.

Her educational background includes earning degrees as a Licensed Denturist and Registered Dental Hygienist. She completed a Mini-Residency in Geriatric & Long-term Care for the Dental Team at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
