3 Questions to Ask a Dentist or Doctor about Your Baby’s Oral Health
Posted September 6, 2019
No one knows better than you how precious your little one’s smile is — and as their parent, no one can protect it like you either — but your dentist and doctor can help give you some valuable tips.
Even though baby teeth don’t hang around forever, their cavities can. Cavities in baby teeth often lead to cavities in adult teeth. Developing a dental care routine with your child at a young age will set them up for a lifetime of better oral health. When your baby’s first teeth begin to poke through, it’s the perfect reminder to have their teeth screened. By their first birthday, schedule an appointment with a dentist or ask your doctor to take a look at your baby’s mouth.
We know you have your hands full (usually, quite literally), so to simplify your next appointment, we’ve compiled a list of common questions and concerns new parents have about oral health.
Screenshot this list to take to your next appointment and ask your dentist or doctor these three questions about your baby’s mouth.
- Does my child have any sign of cavities?
- How do I best care for my baby’s gums and teeth to prevent cavities?
- What advice do you have about tooth-healthy snacks?
