Smile Survey

Washington Smile Survey 2023–2024: Tracking Trends in Children’s Oral Health

About the Smile Survey

The Smile Survey is a public/private partnership that includes the Washington State Department of Health, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, local health jurisdictions (LHJs), and oral health professionals, and with funding and planning support from Arcora Foundation. Usually conducted every five years, this survey provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of children’s oral health across the state.

Smile Survey Dashboard

The Smile Survey Dashboard allows advocates, analysts, and other interested groups to explore the most recent survey data.

While the fact sheet and infographic provide key takeaways across Washington state, the dashboard allows you to explore data at the county level across demographic groups.

Arcora designed the refreshed Smile Survey Dashboard with three key levels of analysis:

  • Snapshots at the state and county levels that provide quick references on key figures and changes since the last survey (2015-16).
  • Comparison views for you to compare findings across demographic groups within a county, or overall results across counties to identify populations with the greatest need for oral health support.
  • A self-service table view for quick access to data points for specific counties and demographic groups.

In addition, the dashboard has a county profile view designed to print as a one-page fact sheet.
