Smile Survey participation supports Spokane County children’s oral health!

The 2023 Smile Survey is making significant progress across the state. So far, thanks to the partnership of school districts, the survey has reached 55% of schools randomly selected for the sample. In Spokane County, we are seeking connections to selected schools to support participation in the Smile Survey.

Participation ensures children in communities in Spokane and across the state don’t miss out on future oral health policy considerations and resource allocations. Participation is important because it also helps:

  • Assess and improve the oral health status of children in Spokane County and Washington state.

  • Understand the current oral health status of children statewide—including effects of the pandemic, barriers to dental care, and inequities.

We need Spokane County schools randomly selected for the survey to participate. With your help, we can make sure 2nd and 3rd grade students from our area are represented.

Do you work in Spokane County elementary schools or know partners who do?
