Sumayo Mohamed
Associate Program Officer
Sumayo is a committed advocate for community-led solutions that advance oral health equity. As an Associate Program Officer, she manages Arcora’s Healthy Behaviors program and supports broader prevention initiatives. Her work includes strengthening partnerships with organizations addressing food insecurity, collaborating with tribal partners to reduce sugary drink consumption, and supporting community groups serving populations experiencing the highest oral health disparities.
Before joining Arcora, Sumayo completed her Master of Public Health at the University of Washington, where she focused on environmental health equity, community-based research, and public policy. Her work has spanned support for immigrant and refugee communities, low-income families, and residents of historically overburdened areas. She contributed to state-level environmental justice policy requiring community-based air monitoring in overburdened neighborhoods. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from the University of Washington.
Outside of work, Sumayo enjoys all things Bravo reality TV, practicing yoga (enthusiastically, even when begrudgingly). Her self-care staples include heavy‑creamer coffee and long walks with her sisters or friends.
